Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season was full of excitement and surprises, as teams battled it out on the gridiron. Here are the 32 things we learned:
First up, the Philadelphia Eagles struggled to score in the first quarter this season, but they turned things around in their game against the New York Giants, putting up 28 points over the final three periods to secure a dominant victory.
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is still looking for his first win against Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Niners suffered a 28-18 defeat on Sunday, adding to their list of losses in Super Bowls 54 and 58. Unfortunately, the day was marred by a knee injury to wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Mahomes and 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy failed to connect for any touchdown passes in their matchup, but they did combine for five interceptions and three rushing touchdowns, making for an eventful game.
On a brighter note, the Kansas City Chiefs remain the only undefeated team in the league, improving to 6-0 with a strong performance. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings suffered their first loss of the season.
In Green Bay, running back Josh Jacobs finally notched his first career touchdown reception, ending a drought of 211 catches without a score. Jacobs, a former first-round pick, expressed relief at breaking the streak, saying, “It was long overdue.”
Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb made a triumphant return to the field after more than a year recovering from a knee injury. Despite managing just 2 yards per carry on 11 rushes, Chubb scored his first touchdown since 2022 and provided a much-needed boost for his team and fans.
Looking ahead, the Browns face challenges without star quarterback Deshaun Watson, who suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in 2023 and now plays for the Indianapolis Colts. The team will need to rally together in his absence.
As the season progresses, there are sure to be more ups and downs for teams across the league. Stay tuned for more exciting action in the weeks to come.
